Thibaut Pinot won the eight stage of Tour de France in good fashion. The Frenchman from FDJ-BigMat, using a PRO Vibe7s-kit, grabbed back leader Frederik Kessiakoff (Astana) on the final climb and then soloed to the win in the Suisse village of Porrentruy.
A group of favorites came close to Pinot, around halve a minute, but wasn’t able to hunt down the 22-year-old rider. Cadel Evans (BMC) finished second, Tony Gallopin (RadioShack-Nissan) came in third.
Yellow jersey wearer Bradley Wiggins seized the fourth place and is still the overall leader.
